Barcelona Lodging

Here is a map of Barcelona neighborhoods.

Barcelona

Ramblas divides Raval from Gotico. Last time we stayed in Poble Sec. I liked it, but would prefer to try a new hood.

I think you said you'd like to stay in Raval, which is between Ramblas and Poble Sec. I was thinking north of Plaza Catalunya, into Eixample or Gracia. I did not realize Eixample was so big. Honestly, I doubt we can go wrong with any of them, and public transit is good enough that we should have no trouble getting around. There are AirBnbs all over.

If we do a hotel, I'd like it to have a fitness center and at least a little sitting room, like the Aloft. And of course a laundry room. So here's an option:

Hotel Catalonia Gran Via - It's about $900 for the 4 nights. It's just outside of El Raval, on the main street between Plaza de Espana and Poble Sec. We walked down this street numerous times last time we were there.

Things get a little cheaper as you head north into L'Eiample, but it's still closer to $250 a night for a room with a sitting area.

We can get a decent room for less than $200/night at the Crowne Plaza. We stayed in one of these in Salzburg, it was nice. However, it's over near Poble Sec, where we stayed last time.

So, moving on to AirBnBs, this house is $650 for the 4 nights, its right on Plaza Cataluyna.

Further north, near the Provenca Metro, this place is nice and $720.

Similar area, little more pricey at $835.

Close to Plaza Cataluyna, little more expensive - $817 - , can't tell if it has a terrace, but nice space and great reviews.

Also near the Provenca Metro, $767. One of the reviews says it has a great balcony for people watching. that seems up our alley. No photos though. Also none of the shower, which leads me to believe its pretty small.
