Menorca Hotels
Can we stay somewhere nice in Menorca? Treat yo' self?
Not sure if we want to stay in one of the cities or in more of a beach town. The cities (Mahon and Ciutadella) are like 30,000 people, so they are not big cities.
I had been leaning towards a little beach town. I don't really know why. Be nice to be right on the beach, only have a few bars/restaurants in town, just take it easy. Bonus points for a fitness room, but maybe not necessary If the hotel rents bikes, I'd actually prefer to jog or bike those rocky trails.
So, here are some options.
Cala n Bosch is a resort town south of Ciutadella. That light house is there, perfect for watching sunsets over the Mediterranean. Que romantico!

- Club Lago. Pretty swanky and expensive, but looks super nice. It's got pools, spa, restaurant, bar, fitness room, airport shuttle, bikes, and about a 2 minute walk to the beach. However, it's $1300 for the 4 nights, so not cheap. It's also adults only, which would probably be nice, but always makes me think it's some creepy swingers resort.
- Macarella Suites. Right near Club Lago, maybe a little less swanky and not as close to the beach but not far, still nice and less expensive. We can get a suite with breakfast included for $920 total. No swingers.
Punta Prima is over on the east side of the island, closer to the airport. Similar smaller beach community to Cala n Bosch. The Occidental Hotel looks nice. The cheapest room is $850. Or a room with a small seating area is $1200. You can do all inclusive, but I'd rather explore the local places for food and drink.
I'm not opposed to staying in one of the cities, but there appears to be less beach access. Water access seems to be reserved for boats and ferries. I can't find any beaches in Mahon proper.
Closer to Ciutadella, we could stay at the Globales Mediterrani for $950 in a standard room. They don't appear to have more of a suite with a seating area.
I'm not opposed to an AirBnB, but I haven't found anything that awesome.
